Attending events can feel overwhelming — from the networking opportunities to the various speaker tracks, there is generally more to do than there is time. Luckily, we’ve put together a little cheat sheet for you so that you can get the most out of your attendance at CanWEA 2017.
Tip #1 – Come Prepared!
CanWEA is a great place to connect and meet with people. Let people in your network know that you will be in Montreal, and ask them to meet you at the event.
Set up your account on MyShowPlanner to organize your time at CanWEA, prioritize/research the exhibitors you want to meet, and to identify the sessions you want to attend.
Tip #2 – Get Excited About the Possibilities in this Industry
After several successive years of record growth, Canada’s wind energy industry is positioned to grow even stronger. The new federal government has brought climate change and environmental policy to the surface, emphasizing a need for more renewable energy sources.
As Canadian provinces aim to meet expectations for greenhouse emission reduction while providing affordable energy alternatives in a volatile economy, there is an increasing demand for a more sustainable supply of electricity. We continue to receive regulatory and policy support for clean, renewable, low-cost and low-emission energy: Wind.
Tip #3 – Explore the City!
Explore what Montreal has to offer. Plan ahead if you want to spend an extra day or two before/after the conference, research the most exciting culinary spots in the city, and see what else the city has to offer.
Attending CanWEA 2017 will give you the momentum you need to move forward in a positive and exciting way in a rapidly growing industry.
