Canadian wind power projects are maturing, and some projects have now been powering communities for decades. Though some new research suggests that wind farms may have longer lives than initially anticipated, the process of safely repowering, decommissioning and/or reclaiming wind energy sites is still relatively new and varies by market. This panel will help developers and proponents understand trends in local and provincial decommissioning regulatory requirements, as well as investigate the possibilities for repowering projects and the environmental implications for reclamation.
