With over 15 years of environmental impact assessment, permitting and Indigenous engagement experience, Kyle has managed consultation programs for numerous high profile and controversial projects including renewable energy, electrical transmission, power generation, pipeline and waterfront developments.
Over the course of his career, Kyle has engaged with over 30 Indigenous communities in Ontario. His focus on respectful engagement rooted in adherence to community-driven consultation protocols has led to positive outcomes for both proponents and communities. Kyle is an effective communicator who develops strategic and innovative solutions to achieve meaningful project outcomes that balance environmental, social and economic objectives.
Kyle led the environmental assessment and permitting process for the 300 MW Henvey Inlet Wind Energy Centre and was part of a team of legal and environmental experts that developed and implemented an innovative First Nation led environmental protection regime. The regime includes a First Nation led EA framework, permitting process and the establishment of an independent Environmental Commissioner to monitor community environmental interests and enforce permit requirements.
