Dr. Philippe Beaucage
Lead Research Scientist
Philippe Beaucage PhD has 15 years of experience in the wind (and solar) industry. He has been with UL Renewables (previously AWS Truepower) since 2008 and his current role is Lead Research Scientist. He is involved in company-wide R&D projects related to, among others, resource assessment, forecasting and grid integration for both wind and solar energy applications. Dr. Beaucage acts as a principal investigator on R&D projects and as the lead technician on other projects. His main area of expertise is numerical modeling for meteorological applications using such tools as mesoscale numerical weather prediction, diagnostic “microscale” models and large-eddy simulations.
Dr. Beaucage has spoken at many national and international conferences. His publication record includes several peer-reviewed journals. He studied at the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS) and has a Ph.D. degree in Energy. He also holds a M.Sc. degree in Physics from Université de Montréal.
